Roseann Forziano started writing fiction ten years ago after retiring from a career as a
community educator for a non-profit organization serving individuals with special needs. As a
part of this position she worked as a puppeteer to help elementary school children learn
acceptance and diversity. In the course of that career she wrote numerous press releases and
articles. As the parent of a special needs adult and advocate for disability rights, she has
addressed faculty and students at Columbia University, Stony Brook University, YAI
International Conference and numerous OPWDD conferences.
She has had non-fiction articles published in Exceptional Parent Magazine, ABLE Newspaper,
Newsday and the NYS School Psychologist News Letter. She wrote a humor column for a local
monthly newspaper.
Since her retirement, she has turned her imagination toward the freeing creativity of fiction
writing. She has been a member of several local writers’ groups for the past ten years. She lives
with her husband on Eastern Long Island.
