Gigi Avila is a previously unpublished author, unless the poem she wrote for her middle school's literary magazine counts. She has a BA in sociology from The University of Texas at Austin and an MSW from The University of Houston Graduate College of Social Work. A social worker turned flight attendant, her writing focuses on deeply human experiences and the lessons we can learn from them.
