unraveled
in flickering candlelight
i unbutton more than your dress
kissing the crimson valley your lips create
along that river of ink running down your
spine, finding truth between salted skin
and silk sheets i find the silver thread in your chest
tugging pulling prying until
you are undone within my arms
lying bare in your entirety
layers aside, thorns exposed
skin searing, eyes rolling
until our dance is over and we lie
underneath a sky so dark we sew
our threads into silver stars for light

Isa is a poet whose work explores memory, inheritance, and emotional depth. Her poems resist direct confession; instead she invites the reader to participate in the making of the narrative. Influenced by lyric minimalism and narrative fragments, she returns to the page as a method of learning.
